Your best life is possible.
When life presents us with profound challenges, it can leave us confused. As we search for answers, support, and comfort, our experiences may trigger overwhelming emotions or behaviors that become difficult to control. Our perspectives may become blurry, and we may lose control of who we are.
Through counseling and mind-body interventions, teens, adults, and families can explore ways to facilitate healing, rediscover hope, gain new perspectives, and rebuild connections to themselves and others.
Counseling can help in several ways:
Regaining harmony —reconnect with your authentic self and regain control over overwhelming emotions.
Healing from trauma – navigate the healing journey from personal trauma, grief, or loss.
Strengthening relationships — build resilience in your marriage, partnership, or family connections.
Personal growth — explore avenues for personal growth and self-discovery, unlocking your true potential.
Living a life worth living — regain control over your life, healing from addiction and eating disorder
My goal is to support and guide you towards a comprehensive and embodied healing experience, encompassing mental and emotional well-being and the harmony of your internal self and the world around you.

FAQ
-
During your first session you will have an opportunity to participate in our Intake Assessment process. During the assessment your therapist will ask questions regarding your history, what brings you to therapy, family of origin, and significant life experiences. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the treatment process and to share what you want to get out of therapy.
In the course of treatment your therapist will use an integrated, holistic trauma-informed approach which may or may not include DBT, CBT, EMDR, Gottman Method, trauma-sensitive yoga, mindfulness, and more. Sometimes your therapist will give you homework which can include practicing skills, setting a routine, or engaging in mindfulness exercises. We will review your goals on an ongoing basis to be sure we are supporting you.
-
Determination of sessions will be based on initial assessment findings. We recommend that clients attend weekly therapy appointments to get the most of the process and to see results. Weekly therapy is especially important and effective during the first phase of therapy to create consistency and growth. Clients who are participating in therapy to address issues regarding trauma, are required to attend weekly appointments to uphold consistency of treatments. Your therapist will review goals and make changes as needed, which will include frequency of visits.

Every individual is unique, and length of treatment will depend on a variety of factors based on assessment findings, level of functioning, and safety. Therapy can vary from three months, six months, nine months, a year or more. The course of therapy can also be informed by the type of therapeutic interventions that are being used to reach treatment goals. At Seneca Counseling & Consulting, treatment is personalized and will be customized to meet client needs.
